Girl Trouble

I wanted to say something about the oddity of girls toys and the warped ideas of body image they generate. For this series I wanted a doll who was more real than Barbie, and I found one with fairly perfect proportions. Her feet are much larger than Barbies and she can stand on her own. Her bust is modest. The only odd thing about her is her faceless head which is quite out of proportion to her body (like a child). Her non-face and humorous facade of the images (who thought a doll would ever need to shave?) allow the viewer to more readily enter the images, but give way to darker undertones when studied beyond first-impressions.
